TICKET TO THE MOON (TTTM), the Bali-based ethical manufacturer of silk parachute hammocks as well as a range of travel and outdoor accessories, has been granted Provisional Membership to the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO). Founded in 1993, embarking on full membership to the WFTO was the logical step for the socially responsible brand which has raised awareness of global challenges and sustainability since its inception.
From the very beginning, TTTM has committed to crafting hammocks in a way that is good for the earth, its customers and its manufacturing family. No PFCs are used in any of its product ranges. By using local materials and investing in innovative recycling methods, it aims to have a minimal impact on the environment.

The WFTO is the global community of social enterprises that fully practice Fair Trade. Their guarantee system verifies that members are truly fair trade enterprises, who pioneer with models of business that put people and the planet first. The WFTO focuses on both social enterprise and Fair Trade, with its guarantee system being the only international verification model focused on social enterprises that put the interests of workers, farmers and artisans first.
Through peer-reviews and independent audits, WFTO verifies members are mission-led enterprises fully practicing the 10 Principles of Fair Trade across their business and supply chains. The WFTO membership status is a significant and globally recognised accolade that enables consumers, stockists and business partners to know the brand they are choosing to support takes their commitment to CSR and the planet seriously.
Rather than a one-off certification, the provisional membership of the WFTO is the beginning of an ongoing verification process for Ticket To the Moon. This stringent process comprises annual audits, active involvement in the fair trade community and commitment to improvements in business practices, which TTTM anticipate will lead to guaranteed membership status being granted by the end of 2023 at the latest.
Florian Hubmann, Managing Director Ticket to the Moon GMBH;, said, “We recently found out that our way of doing things is well in line with the principles set out by the WFTO. On our way to becoming a guaranteed member, we are excited about everything there is to learn and to improve along this journey. We look forward to the interaction with this progressive, beautiful and diverse community.”
