Fife-based outdoor clothing manufacturer KEELA has launched the first-of-its-kind ‘WEE DAYS OOT’ collection, celebrating everyday outdoor adventures with Scottish craftsmanship and sustainable materials.
The ‘Wee Days Oot’ collection, designed for the everyday adventurer, ‘seeks to encourage individuals to head outdoors by providing them with ultimate comfort and practicality.’ The multifunctional pieces of clothing promote local adventure, no matter how small, and embody Keela’s ethos that outdoor adventures are all around for everyone to enjoy.
Designed and manufactured in Scotland, the latest addition to Keela’s ever-growing range was partially developed in collaboration with the Scottish Community Interest Company THE OOTSIDER. A percentage of the proceeds from the Bahookie Changing Robe will be donated to The Ootsider charity tackling rough sleeping across Scotland.
The range is made up of four core items all featuring outer shells made from recycled fabric: the Bahookie Changing Robe, a waterproof changing robe offering a super-soft fleece inner lining to provide warmth; the Drookit Drying Robe, a waterproof drying robe lined with a towel material to dry off after a dip in the sea; the Coorie Blanket, a versatile and waterproof blanket designed to wrap around the shoulders and which folds into itself to provide easy transport; and the Smirr Poncho, a waterproof and packable poncho that folds into its own compact carry bag.
With the campaign strapline in Scottish Gaelic ‘Rannsaich an saoghal timcheall ort’, which translates to ‘Explore the world around you’, Keela’s ambition for the new collection is to be the catalyst for more people exploring their local area and make small outdoor adventures part of their everyday lives.
Keela Sales Director, Sam Fernando, said, “At Keela we strongly believe that the outdoors is for everyone and that there is no adventure too small. The ‘Wee Days Oot’ collection is the embodiment of this – bringing that additional touch of comfort while encouraging individuals that there is an adventure to be had on their doorstep, and not just in the mountains and on the trails.
“Small adventures can have a big impact, whether it’s a nighttime stroll to watch the stars, munching on smores on the beach as you watch the sun go down, or a quick dip in the local loch or river, and this collection will take you there in maximum comfort, inspiring you to venture into those previously unexplored areas.”
The collection represents Keela’s core brand beliefs of IQT – Innovation, Quality and Technology, and marks a further chapter in the brand’s history, coming after Keela recently launched its innovative ‘Legacy Project’, designed to promote the longevity of its kit through recycling, repurposing, and giving second life to unsold vintage garments.
