Rab Wins Three Top Awards With Launch Of A/W22 Collections

British outdoor brand RAB received three prestigious industry and media awards for products in its recently launched Autumn/Winter 2022 collection.

Providing extraordinary warmth for the minimum weight, the new Mythic Ultra down jacket earned both an ISPO AWARD 2022 and the GEAR JUNKIE ‘Best in Show for 2022’ at the US Outdoor Retailer Winter Show last month, celebrating future-leading technology and construction. Also, the new Latok 38 backpack was recognised with an ISPO Award 2022 for its extremely durable yet lightweight construction and its alpinism focussed feature set.

By combining their own heat reflective TILT technology with lightweight, 100% recycled PERTEX® Quantum fabric and 900FP down, the Mythic Ultra Jacket offers ‘next level warmth in an ultralight package.’ Built with body mapped boxwall and stitch-through baffles, it optimises heat retention around the core while maximising mobility through the arms.

Mythic Ultra

The 900FP European goose down inside is ultra-high lofting and treated with a NIKWAX fluorocarbon-free hydrophobic treatment. This down is RDS certified by Control Union 842603. The RDS describes and independently certifies animal welfare practices in down and feather production from the farm to the final product.

What’s more, the Mythic Ultra’s outer and lining are made of 100% recycled fabric with a fluorocarbon-free DWR finish. Offering cutting edge efficiency to high altitude athletes, this down jacket is made for those going fast, light, and vertical.

The Latok 38 pack is a durable, low profile and strippable climbing pack designed for alpinists counting the grams. Built with ultra-tough, lightweight Cordura fabric with Spectra® Ripstop, this pack resists abrasion, water, and wear when climbing on rock and ice. It has a close-fitting X-SHIELD™ carry system with removeable back panel and detachable straps.

Climbers can shed weight on fast and light days when gear requirements are at a minimum. It’s versatile, streamlined, and comfortable on the move, designed with roll top entry and multiple gear attachment points.

Tim Fish, Product Director at Rab, said, “We have invested a huge amount of time in R&D to make sure these are some of the most technically advanced products on the market, covering the needs of ambitious alpinists in extreme conditions and incorporating environmentally conscious fabrics.”
