British outdoor brand RAB has announced a strategic partnership with UK-based aftercare expert GRANGERS. The partnership will bring together heritage, expertise and a mutual commitment to a strong environmental agenda. Launching for Autumn/Winter 2025, the collaboration introduces Grangers Down Defend®, an innovative down treatment that ‘redefines down performance in the harshest conditions.’

The bluesign approved Grangers Down Defend is the result of a three-year development and testing process conducted jointly by the two partners. It is an at-source treatment made to clean and enhance the hydrophobic properties of down, maximising warmth, comfort, protection, and longevity.
Grangers Down Defend’s key performance highlights include:
- Exceeds 2000 shake test minutes for recycled down and 15,000 shake test minutes for virgin down.
- Long-lasting effectiveness, maintaining insulation performance through up to 40 washes.
- bluesign approved and PFAS-free.
Grangers Down Defend will feature in Rab’s Autumn/Winter 2025 hydrophobic down styles, reinforcing Rab’s long-standing reputation as ‘Masters of Insulation’.
As part of this partnership, Rab will also streamline its aftermarket Service Centre treatment offerings for both insulation and shell wash, ensuring that customers’ gear can maintain peak performance throughout its whole life.
