Award-winning Scandinavian camping brand OUTWELL has introduced lighting innovation and a new model to its exclusive SUPERIOR AIR TOURING COLLECTION for 2023. The patented OUTWELL NIGHTLIGHT SYSTEM (ONS) offers soft illumination that allows campers to move around and leave an awning without a harsh light waking other occupants. Plus, the gentle porch light highlights the main door zip for ease of access on their return.
While the awnings are prepared for ONS, the key to its operation is the optional rechargeable power source located in a pocket at one end of the modified HookTrack beading, which lights up the embedded fibre optic element. The optional ONS Light Unit Set comprises two light power units and a coded remote controller. Each unit has a rechargeable battery that provides six hours of light depending on conditions. The addition of the ONS feature still allows the Outwell HookTrack System’s to suspend lighting and small items where needed.

The new inflatable Crossville 250SA joins the Superior Air Touring Collection to add yet more choice and screenhouse functionality to the top-end Outwell vehicle awnings. The drive-away features doors front and back, each protected from water run off by an eyebrow porch. Both can be fully opened to maximise insect-free ventilation thanks to full mesh panels. The side wall can also be fully opened and, again, features a full mesh panel behind. Toggle all three back to create a screen house for insect-free shade on summer days.
Like all Superior Air Touring awnings, the Crossville is made from the new Outtex 6000 Express RS fabric, a strong polyester ripstop with 6000mm hydrostatic head. Lighter and stronger than other Outwell awning fabrics, this all-weather material offers weight and packed size savings. The proven Outwell Power Air System air tubes are easy to inflate and deflate.

The provision of double 5mm and 7mm beading alongside provides secure attachment to most campervans with guylines offering an option where rails are not fitted. The Easy Pegging System aids pitching and a correctly pitched Crossville claims aerodynamic storm protection against Force 9 storms.
The unique Link Access Zone, with two opposing side doors, provides close, full-length, fuss-free connection with vehicles, cutting out draughts and complementing the Outwell Sewn-in Ground System by creating a ‘hallway’ between vehicle and awning in which to shed wet and dirty gear. The large well-ventilated living space benefits from tinted windows and zip-up curtains for privacy and reduced sun glare.
As well as the ONS power pack, other options include inner tent, carpet, a selection of connectors, air repair tubes and valve repair kit.
Outwell Power Air System – individual tubes that are inflated and deflated separately via external valves. An extra apex tube is attached manually for extra stability. Fast inflation is via the supplied high capacity manual pump or optional Outwell electric tent pump.
Outwell Link Access Zone − Extra weather protection is provided by the D-shaped side doors of the Easy Access System that open onto the space created between the vehicle and awning, providing an access area to keep water and mud out of the living areas. The Outwell Link Access Zone System provides a valance to close the gap between the vehicle and the ground and works with the awning’s groundsheet to keep the access area dry and draught-free. Magnetic vehicle connection now provides an even tighter seal.
Outwell Easy Pegging System – the proven way to ensure the right pegs are used for the right purpose. Three types of pegs are used to anchor specific areas of the awning. Smart Air Only.
Outwell HookTrack System − the Outwell HookTrack System is a smart, yet simple innovation designed to deliver safety and convenience that is dependable and easy to use. It allows lights to be positioned where needed, routing wires securely out of the way to avoid accidental damage and trip hazards. Plus, the optional Hanging System lines and clips provide a means to suspend lighter items, for additional versatility.
