Montane’s Polygiene Sustainable Dart Collection Wins Praise From Renowned Testing Group

British outdoor clothing and equipment brand MONTANE has won praise from the B2C test platform ISPO Collaborators Club for its POLYGIENE Dart Base Layer collection.

Montane’s Dart base layer is made in collaboration with the Swedish-based treatment provider, utilising Polygiene’s innovative StayFresh™ odour-control technology, which helps to reduce the frequency of garment washes and keep items hygienic and odour-free for longer.

As part of an ongoing commitment to product innovation alongside a desire to maximise performance and provide customers with high-quality products, Montane and Polygiene regularly participate in customer-focused product testing initiatives. The ISPO Collaborators Club boasts 35000 members who regularly explore, play and compete in the great outdoors to put the kit through its paces.

To test the Dart Base Layer, 324 applicants were whittled down to a group of 20 qualified testers, who had three months to use and review products. The selected testers provided overwhelmingly positive feedback for the Montane Dart Base Layer.

88% of testers reporting that they will buy products from the Montane Dart collection or other Montane collections in the future with 94% of testers stating they would recommend the Montane Dart collection to a friend and 88% of testers believing product quality matched or exceeded that of other base layers.

Montane Marketing Director Matt Hickman said, “Polygiene is a key component of our products and wider sustainability offering. Collectively, we can all reduce our impact if we wash clothes less. Polygiene makes this possible with their StayFresh™ technology.

“Working alongside the ISPO collaborators club and Polygiene to deliver this study reinforces the brand choices we are making. Additionally, this study has provided a platform to listen to consumer feedback and enabled us to adapt several areas of our communications.”

Polygiene’s Global Category Director for Sports & Outdoor, Markus Hefter added, “Our odour-control technologies are designed to work for manufacturers, customers, and the environment, To hear that experienced outdoor athletes and enthusiasts believe the technology can make a difference to both product quality and the planet is extremely rewarding.”

The Dart Base Layer forms part of Montane’s ‘More Sustainable Choice’ collection, following a commitment from Montane to provide customers with increased detail on Montane products, enabling them to make more informed buying decisions through increased transparency.
