It was at last summer’s OUTDOOR TRADE SHOW that we met with Nicole Walbran, International Sales Manager for JETBOIL®, a leader in innovative outdoor cooking systems and flagship brand of Johnson Outdoors Inc. She was there supporting UK distributor BURTON MCCALL and introducing the new basecamp cooking system, fuelled by isobutane gas.
Being obliged to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before getting the lowdown meant we couldn’t share details but it’s now out in the open – in more ways than one.
The Genesis Basecamp System Isobutane is described as ‘a compact cooking solution designed for efficiency, versatility, and ease of use in the great outdoors’. With a real feel of quality when handled and operated, the fast-boiling, foldable two-burner stove system is compatible with standard isobutane fuel canisters.
Designed with portability in mind, the regulated Genesis Stove, 5-litre FluxPot, and Fry Pan nest neatly together and fit into a durable travel bag, providing ample cooking area and versatility for couples and groups.
Equipped with a 5L FluxRing® Cook Pot that allows for even heat distribution and improved fuel efficiencies, a 10” non-stick ceramic-coated fry pan, carry bag, windscreen, fuel regulator and fuel can stabiliser, the Jetboil Genesis Basecamp System Isobutane achieves a boil time of 3 minutes and 15 seconds per litre and weighs 4.1kg.
