W.L. GORE & ASSOCIATES, creators of the Gore-Tex® Brand, have launched its next-generation GORE-TEX PRO FABRIC. This new textile materials innovation within Gore’s Fabrics portfolio marks an important milestone in the brand’s commitment to responsible performance.
It features the advanced expanded polyethylene (ePE) membrane, lightweight, durable and produced without intentionally added per-and polyfluorinated substances, while delivering exceptional waterproof, windproof and breathable performance in extreme weather and rugged conditions.
“This next-generation GORE-TEX® Pro Fabric category exceeds our rigorous GORE-TEX® Brand testing requirements by elevating beyond standard limits,” said Sara Ellis, global GORE-TEX® Pro product specialist and materials engineer.
“Our advanced research and development field and lab test protocols simulate severe wear and tear experienced in extreme weather to ensure long product life and extended durability.”
Designed to meet the needs of the most demanding outdoor activities, Gore-Tex Fabric designers collaborate closely with select brands to deliver the best membranes for their customers. Garments featuring next-generation Gore-Tex Pro will be available through select brands and retailers for the upcoming winter season.
Features:
- Extremely rugged: ensures the most durable protection in the most extreme conditions and rugged environments.
- Durably waterproof: backed by the GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY commitment, even in torrential downpour or harshest snow conditions.
- Windproof: blocks all wind while sweat vapour easily escapes for continued dry comfort during demanding activities.
The membrane features ePE for a light, thin yet strong, durable performance, made without per- and polyfluorinated substances, incorporating recycled textiles, reducing the carbon footprint. And tested for thousands of hours through lab and field testing to confirm durability.
In 2022, Gore introduced the first waterproof breathable membrane featuring ePE after nearly a decade of innovation and development. Current Gore-Tex Pro Product laminates demonstrate a carbon impact reduction by as much as 39%, compared to the previous generation, according to the standard MSI (Materials Sustainability Index). This is achieved through the use of the ePE platform, solution-dyed technologies, and carefully selected recycled textiles, depending on the laminate type.
With more than 13000 Associates and a strong, team-oriented culture, Gore generates annual revenues of $5bn.
