Big Agnes Works With Hyosung For Sustainable Backpacks

BIG AGNES has collaborated with HYOSUNG, a global fibre manufacturer, in the development of its new line of technical, sustainable backpacks for Spring 2022. The outdoor equipment brand produces award-winning sleeping bags, pads, tents, insulated apparel, camp furniture and now backpacks.

Big Agnes’ collection of six backpacks ranges from 20-63 litre capacities, designed for both men and women. They’re made with Hyosung’s 100% recycled and GRS-certified Mipan® regen robic high-tenacity nylon.

Bill Gamber, co-founder and president of Big Agnes, said, “Our packs have been years in the making, and we’re thrilled to bring them to market with 100% recycled fabrics. Sustainability is such a core part of our business – and Hyosung’s partnership allowed us to offer premium backpacks with a ultralight footprint.”

Mike Simko, Global Marketing Director, Hyosung -Textiles, said, “We are honored to partner with Big Agnes, a brand synonymous with award-winning design and innovation, to find the right sustainable solution for its new backpack line.”

Alongside the pack introduction, Big Agnes is launching a 7 litre Big Agnes Trash Can, an easily attachable and packable accessory for collecting litter on the trail and in camp. The Trash Can is made from the same fabric as the packs and will be included with all 45-63 litre packs and also sold separately.

Big Agnes is partnering with Leave No Trace by donating a portion of sales from every pack and Trash Can to assist in its global efforts to sustain healthy public lands.
