Territory Manager – Southern UK

Mammut is a well established, innovative and industry leading Swiss Mountain Sports brand positioned at the premium and technical end of the market. The Mammut UK team currently have an exciting opportunity to join us in a full-time position as a sales territory manager for the Southern UK.

The job requires someone who is equally comfortable carrying out day-to-day administrative functions and face-to-face meetings with customers. We are looking for a highly competent and motivated professional to drive business in this important area (Midlands, central & south Wales, & Southern England). 

The job will involve: 

  • Meeting and exceeding agreed turnover, account and profitability targets
  • Building new and existing relationships with customers via face-to-face customer visits along with regular telephone and email contact
  • Motivation and training of retail personnel; sometimes at evenings or weekends
  • Creating joint promotional plans and sales promotions with targeted retailers
  • Promotion and sales of products at regional, national and international trade shows and events – sometimes weekends and evenings
  • Organisation of regional road shows/ on the hill retail training events
  • Keeping up to date with current products and those of our competitors
  • Working with retailers to create sell through drives in line with marketing strategy
  • Regular liaison with the sales office team and management regarding customers and their sales performance
  • Ensure that all Point Of Sale and Merchandising equipment within stores is used effectively to promote the brand and increase sales, and that the in-store environment is as positive for Mammut as possible
  • Organisation of personal workload to maximise efficient use of time & travel to deliver goals
  • Provide accurate and timely admin of reporting and expenses 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a proven track record of field sales
  • Have a genuine passion for the outdoors and a technical understanding of our products and the activities they relate to
  • Be motivated to deliver their sales contribution to the team
  • Be self-motivated, able to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Reside within the sales territory
  • Be able to work away from home
  • Have a confident and outgoing manner with excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships with all levels within businesses
  • Be organised, articulate, numerate and computer literate
  • Be proficient in time management and journey planning
  • Be a confident user of social media, e.g. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, in order to increase the reach of our Brand & events
  • Hold a current full car driving license (preferably clean) and a current passport 
  • Visual merchandising experience

Hours of work:

This is a home based, full-time position, which on average equates to 40 hours a week. We would expect the work to be carried out between Monday and Friday, however this position will require regular overnight stays and some weekend working.
