Ultimate Performance is our second key brand.  Applying the inventiveness and innovation to Sports Medical and Performance Sports Accessories, was a natural transition and has been most successful over the past 12 years.  Graduating from distributing leading sports medical, and accessories brands, in 2011we brought to market our own designed brand.  Ultimate Performance or “UP” was born and has thrived.

The Ultimate Performance range has been extensively expanded and is now probably the brand leader in the consumer retail market in the UK.  Increasingly our tapes and accessories have been taken up by professional, semi-professional and amateur sports clubs and medical professionals, and as exports advance throughout the world via distributors, the 1000 Mile and Ultimate Performance brands have become nationally and internationally renowned. 

What we require:

A vacancy has arisen for an area sales manager to cover the North of the United Kingdom.

We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and organised individual to further enhance the service we provide to our customers and suppliers within our two major disciplines.   A strong passion for the outdoors, running and well being, as well as some knowledge of our products would be desired.

Traditional sport and outdoor retailers make up much of the customer base, but increasingly professional and semi-professional sports teams and therapist practices add to this base.

The successful candidate will work closely with the rest of the sales team to continue to give the “old fashioned” levels of service and sales and marketing, that our retailers increasingly need in this digital age. 

The position involves:

  • Working alongside the two Sales Directors and Area Sales Manager (South and Midlands) to construct, meet, and exceed agreed turnover and profitability targets
  • Building on existing and extensive customer relationships in addition to actively seeking out and converting new account opportunities.
  • Promotion and sales of products at regional, national and international buying and trade shows, stockrooms and events.
  • Providing in-store staff training and POS display concepts..
  • Participation at company sales meetings. 

The person we seek will:

  • Have a genuine passion for the outdoor and sports market.
  • Be self-motivated, able to work autonomously, and be a team player.
  • Be organised, articulate, numerate and computer literate.
  • Have a proven track record of sales within the sports or outdoor industry.
  • Reside within the sales territory in the north or northwest.
  • Have a confident and outgoing manner with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoy being fully involved with new product development, social media, and marketing ideas.
  • Hold a current full car driving licence and current passport.

The successful candidate will be provided with the following:

  • Mobile phone, lap top computer, and tablet.
  • Fully expensed Company car, or an agreed car allowance for the use of one’s own vehicle. 

Hours of work:

This is a full time position.  We would expect the majority of work to be carried out between Monday and Friday.  However the candidate will require regular overnight stays and possibly some weekend working. 

The benefits include:

  • A competitive starting salary with o.t.e. of c.£48,000 p.a..
  • 31 days holiday entitlement per annum (pro rata in the first year) including public holidays.
  • The successful candidate will be invited to join our healthcare scheme after twelve months successful service
