Lyon Equipment Limited (Lyon) is an employee owned company serving the Outdoor, Work at Height and Rescue markets with ‘equipment and expertise to venture further’.

The Petzl UK Agency is the Lyon team dedicated to servicing Petzl in the UK and Ireland. The key responsibilities of the agency include: sales representation, marketing, sales administration, technical support and aftersales, for both the sport and professional markets.

We are seeking to appoint a full time Petzl Technical Information and Returns Administrator to the Petzl UK Agency based at Tebay.

The job will involve:

  • Answering technical enquiries on Petzl products via email and telephone (includes customers and Lyon staff)
  • Assessing and processing warranty claims
  • Assisting the sales team (order processing, stock enquiries, general administration)
  • Carrying out repairs to damaged products where appropriate
  • Accurately reporting faults for product quality/development
  • Posting out and replenishing spare parts
  • Processing stock returns from customers
  • Assisting in Petzl marketing (samples, demo kit, etc.)
  • Assisting the sales representative team (customer training, events, etc.) 

The person we seek will ideally meet the following essential criteria:

  • Have good language and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be able to handle enquiries in a diplomatic, helpful and efficient way
  • Previous customer services experience is essential, ideally gained in retail
  • Be organised, with good attention to detail and understand the importance of following business processes
  • Have good computer skills and experience of data entry
  • Have experience in the use of Personal Protective Equipment gained from working in retail, work at height, rescue or adventurous activities
  • Be self-motivated and also happy to work as a team member
  • Be willing to undertake personal training and development
  • Full clean driving licence – desirable but not essential. 

Hours of Work:

This is a full time position which equates to 37.5 hours a week. We work slightly longer hours Monday-Thursday in order to enjoy an early finish on a Friday every week.  These hours are Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 17:00 and Friday 08:30 – 14:00.
