Key Accounts Manager – North

MONTANE is one of the fastest growing outdoor brands in Europe. We specialise in creating technical clothing and equipment for extreme environments, where design and performance are of the highest quality and are critical factors in the comfort and success of the wearer’s pursuit.

In this newly created Senior UK Sales position, the successful candidate will be responsible for Montane’s entire Northern retail network and therefore some of the most important retailers in the country.

With such importance placed upon this territory it is essential that the candidate has a wealth of experience, a proven track record of success in managing key accounts with strategic and financial importance to the business. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate sustained performance over successive years, show growth within the relevant Key & Tier 1 accounts and provide real examples of high impact, high return marketing initiatives from concept to implementation.

The candidate needs to be comfortable with CEO/MD level meetings, have the respect of industry professionals, have exceptional communication skills both written & oral, be an expert with data, analysis, strategic planning and be highly organised.

Montane has a history of promoting from within and the ideal candidate will have the ambition and skills to become a part of the senior management structure.

The position by its very nature is field based and this requires time away from home.

We expect: -

  • A demonstrable history of success with Key Account & Tier 1 Account management
  • A proven track record of sustained success with Tier 2 accounts
  • To maintain the base business, control customer sales attrition and grow the brand through new sales opportunities
  • A comprehensive understanding of the UK outdoor and trail run market
  • The ability to devise and implement central marketing initiatives
  • Self-motivated, driven and highly organised
  • Results orientated
  • Confident, articulate and engaging
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Active in outdoor activities
  • Comfortable travelling
  • Located in Northern England to cover the Northern Sales Territory
  • Full UK Driving Licence
